Melville City Centre - Structure Plan

Could this be your city centre?

AMP Capital Investors, the owner of the Garden City Shopping Centre, has approached the City of Melville regarding the preparation of a new structure plan for the site. A structure plan is an important planning document that is required to guide the future redevelopment of the Melville City Centre (which includes the shopping centre plus adjoining areas).

TAKE THE SURVEY NOW

A structure plan will consider significant issues such as:

• What will happen in the city centre?
• What it will look like in the future?
• What kind of development is possible?
• How we get to, from and around the centre?
• How can environmental sustainability best be addressed?

Improving accessibility and how the shopping centre integrates with surrounding areas will also be key things to consider.

Council approved an earlier structure plan for the area in February 2007 which can be viewed here. This plan needs to be updated.

The project is currently in its early stages. It is anticipated at this stage that there will be extensive community engagement in 2013 where the community will be able to provide ideas and feedback on the planning concepts.
